Danica Patrick Continues Her "Bad Boy" Image Routine

Danica in her never ending quest to become a NASCAR Driver, ramps up her "Bad Boy" image with a cat fight in the pits.  Open wheel driving has always been a gentleman's sport, much like chasing fox and friends over hill and dale.   NASCAR, which pays  much more grandiose  sums of money,  is the sport of  blue collar  america ,  a  "lunch box larry"  idolization.   If downing a six pack in her undies, smoking a cigar, cussing out the competition, or passed out naked on the beach would bolster her image for a NASCAR changeover, she would do it.  Hold it!  I think she has done all of the above.

Danica Patrick May Have Had Enough With Indy Car

If Danica Patrick seems aloof and distant the next couple of weeks, insiders may have a clue.  Just outside her family, a few have given a clue as to her distraction.

Danica has shown that after expressing outrage she withdraws within and remains some what silent for weeks.  But this time she may be considering taking a break from Indy Car racing.

Danica desperately wants to move to NASCAR, but her advisers have told her it is too soon.  Well now may be the time in Danica's mind.

I would expect talks to start immediately in secret and be released shortly after Independence Day.

Danica Patrick Tries To Build NASCAR Like Reputation

Danica Patrick fresh off her first Indy Car win last month, went into this year Indy 500 with high hopes.  Her drive for the podium was eliminated late in the race with a pit lane mishap involving Ryan Briscoe. 

After the incident, clad in protective helmet and sporting clinched fists, she proceeded to march down pit road in the direction of her eliminator, Briscoe.  She was stopped short of what would have been a “High Noon” encounter, by a pit official and the head of security.

NASCAR would have most likely let the two drivers exchange pleasant greetings with a few pushes here and there and allow the cameras to follow one or both drivers back to their Travel Home to catch all the action.

NASCAR fans eat that stuff up.  If it is not in the pits, it is always on the track where drivers use their cars to get retaliation.  Fans light candles and kneel in front of posters of those drivers that project a swaggering attitude on and off the track.

Danica Patrick cannot show NASCAR her on track “cajones” because Indy cars are open wheeled and any slight contact could be disaster. Her near naked photos have prepared the younger male NASCAR fans for her anticipated arrival, but her next best stage to exhibit her “moxy” is out of the car in pit lane with the crowd cheering her on like a “Raging Bull”.

Danica Patrick: Race Car Driver Or Cover Model?

Danica will be racing at Indy soon and the question pops up, Racy or Racer?

She has 1 win in 50+ races but is batting 100% with her photos.  Thanks to Sports Illustrated her obvious good looks have been exposed and heated up her value such that no amount of Nomex can stop the fire storm anytime soon.

It is not her fault that she lends herself so well to the camera lens, but I question  her intentions and the image she promotes.

1.  Her photo shoots cannot be compared to shoots with other drivers.  There is nothing to compare her against out there except Dale Jr. in a pair of wranglers.

2.  Most drivers use their fame as winners to promote products where  Danica uses her zipped down fire suit.

3.  Her reputation as a party girl can be compared to most drivers and should not be held against her.  Her web site has some background music with the lyrics, "I'm the life of the party".

4.  She is by far the first "competitive female" driver outside Drag Racing.

5.  By driving with a thong on she lowers the racing weight by .3 ounces.

You see!  That last comment comes from the image she promotes, not because she is merely female.

Some speculate that she is trying to Brand herself and gain popularity in the only way available to her with her present winning record or lack there of.  Most of this to jump over to a more lucrative racing arena, Nascar.

NASCAR? Oh My!  This is another topic for another time.  Presently some notable Indy Drivers and winners are sucking wind in Nascar.

Why is Danica Patrick creating this image?  Because SHE CAN.
